Force FAQ

The NF Story

Nintendo Power is no more. The announcement went out in August 2012, and the magazine’s final issue launched the following December. The original publication made to be the source of news, previews and reviews of the Nintendo video game scene was unplugged – but its legacy didn’t die. A new team of writers, artists and designers took up the torch. Calling ourselves “The Nintendo Force,” we sought to usher in a new era of Nintendo coverage in magazine form, paying homage to Power’s past while moving forward to embrace the future.

The debut issue of NF Magazine launched on January 11, 2013 as a print-on-demand publication and quickly soared to become the most popular single issue ever sold through Thousands of readers stepped up to join the Force, and the call went out that they wanted full subscriptions. We obliged, and those thousands are now still enjoying what was thought to be lost – the excitement of new, Nintendo-focused magazines arriving in the mailbox. (And by email and mobile devices!)

We’re now in our fifth year! After two successful Kickstarter campaigns in 2014 and 2015, we made the leap to Patreon in 2016 and have been cruising there ever since. Thanks to our fans’ support, we’ve covered the entire Wii U generation and are now heading into the Switch era! And this is still just the beginning of what we plan to be a long, lasting journey through decades to come! Thanks to all of you who’ve shown your support so far –we’re Forcefully advancing into the future!

Nintendo Power may be no more, but the Nintendo Force is here to stay.

How can I subscribe to the magazine?

NF Magazine subscriptions are available in both print and digital formats, and subscriptions work a little differently than the traditional magazine model you may be used to – we fund production of the magazine one year at a time, through annual Kickstarter campaigns! You can subscribe either by pledging to those campaigns when they come around in January of each year, or if you’re getting here later, you can click right here to go directly to our NF Store page and jump into the current subscription year, already in progress!

OK, I subscribed! But I didn't get a confirmation email. What's the deal?

Check your email’s spam folder. Spam filters don’t like the word “subscription” very much, so some customers have had their order confirmations erroneously flagged as junk.

How do I change my address?

You can use the “Get in Touch” box down at the bottom of the page to let us know your mailing address needs to be changed – just give us both your old address and your new one. You can also send an email to containing that same information any time you need to make a change to your where your issues should be sent.

Also, if you’re a United States resident, make sure you visit your nearest post office to fill out and turn in a mail forwarding request! The USPS will redirect mail to a new address for you for a full year after you move anywhere in the country, and making sure you set up mail forwarding with them will ensure you don’t miss any issue deliveries that may happen while you’re in the process of moving to your new place!

But I still need a copy of earlier issues!

I subscribed, but I never got my issue in the mail! What's the deal?

Print issues can take several weeks to be delivered beyond the digital version’s release date – we recommend opting for a Combo Bundle of both print and digital issues! That way you’ll get access to the content immediately and won’t be stuck waiting by the mailbox, getting all frustrated and angry. Physical products take time to be produced and delivered, people. It’s part of why Nintendo Power closed down. We’re offering printed versions of our issues to keep the legacy going, but if you’re jumping on board with us then you’ve got to have some patience and understanding. Print takes time, and the postal service isn’t the greatest. As an official disclaimer, NF Publishing, LLC isn’t responsible for delays in delivery or damage to print issues sustained in the course of delivery.

We aren’t the postal service. We create the content of the magazines and send the pages to a separate publishing company to be printed and shipped to you, and the postal service takes charge of getting them to your mailbox. If something goes haywire along the way, we’ll try to work with you to make it right – use the Get in Touch! box at the bottom of this page and let us know what’s up. Just be cool about it when you get in touch, will you? We’ll work with you to get any problem you have sorted out!

Can I get a replacement copy of the print issue I missed?

If you’re a print subscriber and one of your issues doesn’t make it to your mailbox, for whatever reason, a digital version of that issue can be provided to you to fulfill that portion of your subscription purchase. Physical replacement copies may be available depending on our remaining stock – use the Get in Touch! box to tell us which issue’s missed your mailbox, and also give us your full mailing address when you get in touch so that we can compare it against the address we have listed for you in our database. Note than no more than one replacement print issue can be sent to the same subscriber in the same subscription year – because if more than one issue goes missing on you, you probably need to sort that out with the postal service and ask them what’s going on!

If you experience repeated trouble with having your print issues delivered, you may request a refund for your subscription purchase – and we also reserve the right to refund your subscription purchase and suspend future mailings to you after multiple failed delivery attempts. Some addresses are just too tough for magazines to reach, for some reason. (Never try shipping magazines to Singapore, for example.)

I subscribed to the digital version, but I never got my issue in my email! What's the deal with that?

The digital version of the magazine is handled similarly to the print edition in the sense that it’s sent out in shipments. On the day of each new issue’s release, an email containing a link to download the issue’s digital PDF file is sent to all of our digital subscribers. You need to make sure that the email address we have on record for you is valid and able to receive these deliveries – just like a printed magazine can’t be delivered to a house that doesn’t exist, a digital magazine can’t be emailed to an incorrect email address. Some Internet service providers like Comcast also don’t play nice with file-delivery emails, so if your email address ends in “” you may need to provide us with a different email address to use in getting your magazines to you – get in touch with us using the Get in Touch! box below to work that out.

The emailed download links are active for only a limited time, so don’t leave them unused for more than two weeks – you wouldn’t leave a print magazine just sitting there in your physical mailbox, after all. And if you buy a digital bundle after the current issue’s initial email shipment has already gone out, or if you choose a bundle that includes any back issues beyond the current issue, a download will automatically trigger when you complete your purchase in The NF Store. If something goes wrong there, let us know and we’ll make it right for you.
